Housed in two mid-century school buildings on nine acres on the edge of a tiny rural town, the Harveyville Project offers a quiet, secluded, distraction-free environment to jump start your creative work. The studio/living spaces (shown above, available in the warmer months), located in the former grade school building, are roomy (700 - 900 sf) former classrooms, complete with the original whiteboards or chalkboards, running water, large built-in work and storage spaces, and expansive windows for plenty of natural light.
All-season rooms are in the old high school building. They have tall windows for ample natural light, built-in furnishings, and lovely details. The high school has wireless internet access. All rooms are outfitted with a bed (linens are provided), table or desk, and cupboards or shelves for storage.
Utilities and a family-style dinner are included, along with use of common facilities (gymnasium, stage, living area/lounge, etc.). Showers and bathrooms are shared. Land is available for use for sculpture and environmental art. Residents have a dedicated fridge and pantry. We can accommodate vegetarian diets.
Residency options range from two weeks to six months. A few longer-term spaces are available.
